Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS)
MyKey(R) Programming
Program a MyKey(TM)
NOTE: After a MyKey(TM) has been programmed, the remaining standard key(s) (the key[s] not programmed with the MyKey(TM) feature) is referred to as an administrator key(s) or admin key(s). There must always be at least one admin key.
NOTE: The MyKey(TM) feature can be cleared within the same key cycle that it was programmed. Follow the Clear MyKey(TM) procedure to clear the key of any restricted MyKey(TM) status. If the key has been cycled, an admin key is required to clear the MyKey(TM) programming.
1. For vehicles without Intelligent Access (IA), insert a programmed PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn the key from the OFF position to the RUN position. This key must be the one that is being programmed to the MyKey(TM) restricted status.
For vehicles with IA (Intelligent Access), insert a programmed IA (Intelligent Access) key into the backup transceiver slot and turn the ignition to RUN. This IA (Intelligent Access) key must be the one that is being programmed to the MyKey(TM) restricted status.
2. From the message center main menu, use the up and down arrow buttons to scroll to and select Settings. Press the OK button.
3. Use the up and down arrow buttons to scroll to and select MyKey. Press the OK button.
4. Use the up and down arrow buttons to scroll to and select Create MyKey. Press the OK button.
5. Press and hold the OK button to create the MyKey(TM).
6. The MyKey(TM) feature (standard restricted features) is successfully programmed into this particular key. Make sure it is labeled for easy identification. If you would like to customize the MyKey(TM) with the audio volume limited, maximum speed limit, speed alert chimes, and AdvanceTrac(R) on/off restrictions, refer to Configuring MyKey(TM) Optional Restricted Features.
- If the vehicle is equipped with an aftermarket remote start, also refer to Using MyKey(TM) with Aftermarket Remote Start Systems.
Configuring MyKey(TM) Optional Restricted Features
NOTE: If configuring an IA (Intelligent Access) key, make sure only the admin key is inside the vehicle. It does not need to be in the backup transceiver slot.
1. Using an admin key that has not been programmed as a MyKey(TM), turn the ignition to RUN.
2. From the message center main menu, use the up and down arrow buttons to scroll to and select Settings. Press the OK button.
3. Use the up and down arrow buttons to scroll to and select MyKey. Press the OK button.
4. Use the up and down arrow buttons to scroll to and select AdvanceTrac. Press the OK button.
5. Use the left and right arrow buttons to configure the AdvanceTrac(R) to be automatically locked on or able to be turned on or off by the MyKey(TM) driver. Press the OK button.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the next features:
- MAX MPH: 80 MPH or OFF
- Speed Warning: 45 55 or 65 MPH (choose the desired speed for the chime to sound)
- Volume Limiter ON or OFF (choose the audio volume to be limited to 45%)
Clear MyKey(TM)
NOTE: If disabling an IA (Intelligent Access) key, make sure only the admin key is inside the vehicle. It does not need to be in the backup transceiver slot.
1. NOTE: This procedure clears the MyKey(TM) feature on all of the keys that are programmed to the vehicle. All of the keys then operate as normal (admin) keys with no restrictions.
Using an admin key, turn the ignition to RUN.
2. From the message center main menu, use the up and down arrow buttons to scroll to and select Settings. Press the OK button.
3. Use the up and down arrow buttons to scroll to and select MyKey. Press the OK button.
4. Use the up and down arrow buttons to scroll to and select Clear MyKeys. Press the OK button.

1. Enter the vehicle and close all of the doors.
2. Remote start the vehicle using the remote start fob.
3. Follow steps 1-4 of the Clear MyKey(TM) procedure.
