Diagnostic Overview

All Passenger Windows Are Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Passenger Window Control Switch - Front Description and Operation or REFER to Passenger Window Control Switch - Rear Description and Operation for window control switch operation.

The passenger power windows do not share a common ground circuit.

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK REAR PASSENGER WINDOW OPERATION FROM THE LH (Left Hand) FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

NOTE: Make sure the LH (Left Hand) front window control switch is in the UNLOCK position.

1. Ignition ON.

2. Attempt to operate the rear passenger windows from the LH (Left Hand) front window control switch.

Do the rear passenger windows operate from the LH (Left Hand) front window control switch?






2. CHECK THE LH (Left Hand) FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH LOCK-OUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: LH (Left Hand) Front Window Control Switch C504 (XLT, Limited) or C535A (Base).

3. Disconnect: LH (Left Hand) Rear Window Control Switch.

4. Measure:





Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?






3. CHECK THE REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH POWER FEED FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280D.

3. Disconnect: LH (Left Hand) Rear Window Control Switch.

4. Measure:

Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the window control switch and ground; and less than 3 ohms between the window control switch and BCM (Body Control Module)?
