Body - Water Leak From Roof Opening Panel

WATER LEAK - ROOF OPENING PANEL
FORD:
2011-2013 Flex
ISSUE
Some 2011-2013 Flex vehicles may exhibit a water leak from the roof opening panel area. This may be more pronounced when parked with the front of the vehicle elevated.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Align roof opening panel. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-17.
2. Lower headliner. Refer to WSM, Section 501-05.
NOTE
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE WINDSHIELD GLASS OR HEADLINER FROM THE VEHICLE FOR THIS REPAIR.
3. Inspect for and remove any debris that may block the trough assembly and drain tube openings.
4. Disconnect rear drain tube connection at white plastic housing on right and left sides of the vehicle.
5. Disconnect the drain tube joint at the plastic coupling, approximately 12.5 cm (5") from the front of the drain tube on right and left side of the vehicle. Discard the drain tubes and couplings.
6. Install new drain tube couplings ensuring a slight downward angle allowing drainage toward the outside of vehicle.
7. Install headliner. Refer to WSM, Section 501-05.
