Hood Alignment

Adjustment

1. NOTE: To adjust the hood, the hood latch must be removed.

Remove the hood latch. For additional information, refer to Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems Service and Repair.

2. NOTE: If the rear of the hood to the height of the fender is too low, it may be shimmed to height.

Loosen the hood hinge-to-hood bolts approximately one-half of a turn.

3. Adjust the hood so that the rear edges of the fender and the edge of the hood line up.

4. Adjust the clearances with the LH and RH fenders.
- The clearances with the fenders must be the same width on the LH and RH sides. For additional information on hood dimensions, refer to Body Repairs Specifications.

5. Tighten the hood hinge-to-hood bolts.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

6. NOTE: The hood must rest uniformly on both bump stop rubbers.

Adjust the front of the hood to the height of the fenders.

- Adjust the hood to the height of the fenders with the bump stop rubbers.

7. NOTE: The clearances and edge alignment must be correct before the hood latch is installed.

Install the hood latch. For additional information, refer to Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems Service and Repair.

- The hood latch must be installed so that the hood engages without stress and the clearances on the LH and RH sides are not changed.
