Instrument Cluster and Panel Illumination

Instrument Cluster and Panel Illumination

Dimmable Illumination

The instrument cluster and panel illumination is used to provide backlighting to the Instrument Cluster (IC), switches, and control components when the side, main or parking lamps are on. The level of intensity is adjustable by rotating the instrument panel dimmer switch wheel either to the right to increase intensity or to the left to decrease intensity.

The instrument cluster and panel illumination system illuminates the following dimmable components:

- Audio Control Module (ACM)
- Air inlet mode switch
- A/C switch
- Climate control assembly
- Rear window defrost switch
- Hazard flasher lamp switch
- Headlamp switch
- IC
- Transmission selector lever

Fixed Illumination

The fixed (non-dimmable) illumination is used to provide backlighting to switches when the key is in the ACCESSORY or RUN position.

The instrument cluster and panel illumination system illuminates the following fixed (non-dimmable) backlighting components:

- Headlamp switch knob
- Window control switches
