Pinpoint Test C: A Single Window is Inoperative - RH Front
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
Normal Operation
The RH window control switch supplies voltage and ground to the window motor. Window direction is controlled by reversing polarity of the voltage and ground circuits being supplied to the window motor.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- RH window control switch
- RH window regulator motor
PINPOINT TEST C: A SINGLE WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE - RH FRONT
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
-------------------------------------------------
C1 CHECK THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH POWER CIRCUIT
- Disconnect: RH Window Control Switch C3293B.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between RH window control switch C3293B-2, circuit 15-AJ9 (GN/BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to C2.
No
VERIFY Central Junction Box (CJB) fuse 166 (25A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
If not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. Diagrams By Number
-------------------------------------------------
C2 CHECK THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUITS
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure the resistance between RH window control switch C3293B-3, circuit 31-AJ9A (BK), harness side and ground; and between RH window control switch C3293B-6, circuit 31-AJ9 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to C3.
No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
C3 CHECK THE RH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Carry out the RH front window control switch component test.
Refer to Power Window Switch for component testing.
- Did the RH front window control switch pass the component test?
Yes
GO to C4.
No
INSTALL a new RH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch Service and Repair. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
C4 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE RH WINDOW MOTOR DOWN CIRCUIT
- Connect: RH Window Control Switch C3293B.
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: RH Window Motor C608.
- Ignition ON.
- Operate the RH window control switch to the DOWN position.
- Measure the voltage between RH window motor C608-1, circuit 32-AJ17 (WH/VT), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to C5.
No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
C5 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE RH WINDOW MOTOR UP CIRCUIT
- Operate the RH window control switch to the UP position.
- Measure the voltage between RH window motor C608-2, circuit 33-AJ17 (YE/VT), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
INSTALL a new RH window motor. REFER to Window Regulator and Motor - Front Door Window Regulator and Motor - Front Door. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
