WARNING: Collision damage repair must conform to the instructions contained in this diagnostic/repair information. Replacement components must be new, genuine Ford Motor Company parts. Recycled, salvaged, aftermarket or reconditioned parts (including body parts, wheels or safety restraint components) are not authorized by Ford.
Departure from the instructions provided, including alternate repair methods or the use of substitute components, risks compromising crash safety. Failure to follow these instructions may adversely affect structural integrity and crash safety performance, which could result in serious personal injury to vehicle occupants in a crash.
The body consists of the following:
- All steel bodies
- Steel roof panel and optional panoramic roof panel with moveable front and fixed rear glass panels
- Unibody cab forward design
- 2,805 mm (110 in) wheelbase
- Laser-welded inner frame rails in front structure that cannot be sectioned
- Front structure common between Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX
- Radiator support bolster constructed of hybrid glass fiber polypropylene material
- Edge and MKX have unique front fascia and grille
- High-Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) and mild steels
- Dual Phase Steel (DP), located in A-pillar (upper) and B-pillar outer reinforcement body side components
- Bolted, removable front fenders, hinged doors and hood
- Steel hood
- Fenders constructed of dent resistant High-Strength Steel (HSS) steel
- Body side outer panel constructed of mild steel
- Body side outer panel available as 2-piece service replacement
- Steel doors incorporating dent resistant HSS (High-Strength Steel) steel outer panels
- Liftgate outer panel constructed of dent resistant HSS (High-Strength Steel) steel
- High-strength, bolt-on front and rear bumper beams
- Front and rear subframe assemblies housing suspension and steering components
- Underbody common between Edge and MKX
- Underbody floor panels constructed of mild steel
- Underbody front floor side member(s) constructed of HSLA (High-Strength Low Alloy) steel
- Underbody rear floor side member(s) constructed of HSLA (High-Strength Low Alloy) steel
- Structural adhesive used in cowl side-to-cowl top panel joint, body side outer-to-inner rear wheel house hem, underbody rear sill and inner fender reinforcement

Underhood Dimensions
NOTE: The following dimensional illustrations are common for Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX.
NOTICE: The radiator bolster is a hybrid component. If damage occurs to the radiator support component, it should not be repaired. A new component should be installed. Failure to follow these instructions may adversely affect cooling system operation.

NOTICE: A structural frame rail service kit not available for this vehicle. The inner frame rail section is laser welded and cannot be sectioned. It is mandatory that the replacement section be installed as delivered at the original factory seam locations. Failure to follow these instructions may compromise collision energy management of the vehicle.
