Front Fender: Service and Repair




Fender





Removal and Installation

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Remove the 2 screws and the rocker panel moulding end cap.





3. Remove the front fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to Fender Splash Shield .

4. Remove the lower fender bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).






5. Carefully cut the expandable foam on the seam along the body as well as the expandable foam covering the front fender inner nut.

6. Remove the front fender inner nut.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).


7. NOTICE: The front bumper cover may be damaged if pulled outward too far while trying to access the front bumper cover support as well as the front fender front bolts.

Pull the corner of the front bumper cover from the brackets on both sides.






8. Remove the front bumper cover support.
- Remove the front bumper cover support bolt.

- Remove the front bumper cover support screw and disconnect and remove the front bumper cover support.


9. Remove the 2 front fender front bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).


10. NOTE: The upper rear fender bolt cover is held on by 3 retaining clips.
Remove the upper rear fender bolt cover.






11. Remove the upper rear fender bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).


12. Remove both cowl panel grille outer panels. For additional information, refer to the exploded view in Cowl Panel Grille .

13. Remove the 3 front fender upper bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).


14. Remove the front fender.

15. To install reverse the removal procedure.
- Transfer parts if necessary.

- Reseal the area along the seam at the body and around the front fender inner nut using Flexible Foam Repair or equivalent.
