Starting System: Description and Operation




Starting System

The starting system consists of the following:

Without Intelligent Access

- Fuse(s)

- Battery

- Battery cables

- Ignition switch

- Starter motor

- Starter relay (located in the Battery Junction Box (BJB))

- PCM (located on the RH side of cowl)

- Body Control Module (BCM)

- Transmission Range (TR) sensor (located inside the transmission)

- Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT)

- Remote start feature, initiated by pressing a sequence of buttons on the IKT (Integrated Keyhead Transmitter)

With Intelligent Access

- Fuse(s)

- Battery

- Battery cables

- Start/stop switch

- Brake switch

- Starter motor

- Starter relay (located in the BJB (Battery Junction Box))

- PCM (located on the RH side of cowl)

- BCM (Body Control Module)

- TR (Transmission Range) sensor (located inside the transmission)

- Intelligent Access (IA) key

- Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module

- Remote start feature, initiated by pressing a sequence of buttons on the IA (Intelligent Access) key
