Fuel Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair




Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) Sensor - 2.0L GTDI





Removal

1. Remove the upper Charge Air Cooler (CAC) inlet tube and intermediate CAC (Charge Air Cooler) inlet tube.

2. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise and position the accessory drive belt aside.





3. Remove the 3 bolts and position the power steering pump aside.
- To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).






4. Disconnect the Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) sensor electrical connector.





5. Remove the FRP (Fuel Rail Pressure) sensor.





Installation

1. Install the FRP (Fuel Rail Pressure) sensor and tighten in the following 5 stages:
- Stage 1: Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 5 degrees.

- Stage 3: Loosen 90 degrees.

- Stage 4: Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

- Stage 5: Tighten an additional 21 degrees.






2. Connect the Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) sensor electrical connector.





3. Position the power steering pump and install the 3 bolts.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-in).






4. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise and position the accessory drive belt.





5. Install the upper CAC (Charge Air Cooler) inlet tube and intermediate CAC (Charge Air Cooler) inlet tube.
