Active Park Assist
Pinpoint Test F: DTC B1304:68

Normal Operation
The Parking Aid Module (PAM) sends and receives network messages over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) from the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) (part of the steering column). A fault condition occurs when the PSCM (Power Steering Control Module) does not send an acknowledge exit message to the PAM (Parking Aid Module) indicating the EPAS (Electronic Power Assist Steering) system has exited the active park assist maneuvers.
This fault occurs while the operator is using the active park assist system and the system has control of the steering. During the failure, the operator should see the Instrument Cluster (IC) message center message "ACTIVE PARK FAULT" followed by an audible chime.
- DTC B1304:68 (Electronic Power Assisted Steering System: Event Information)- sets when the PAM (Parking Aid Module) does not receive an acknowledge exit message from the PSCM (Power Steering Control Module).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- PSCM (Power Steering Control Module)
- PAM (Parking Aid Module)
PINPOINT TEST F : B1304:68
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
F1 CHECK FOR RECORDED DTCs FROM BOTH THE CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND PSCM (Power Steering Control Module) SELF-TESTS
- Check for recorded PSCM (Power Steering Control Module) DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests.
Are any PSCM (Power Steering Control Module) DTCs recorded?
Yes
REFER to Steering. REPAIR all PSCM (Power Steering Control Module) DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
GO to F2.
F2 CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (Parking Aid Module) OPERATION
- Disconnect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connector.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connector and make sure it seats correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new PAM (Parking Aid Module). CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
