VEHICLES BUILT 12/1/2011 TO 3/15/2012

2012 Escape

ISSUE
Some 2012 Escape vehicles built from 12/1/2011 to 3/15/2012 may exhibit a customer concern of a high pitch chirp/squeak type noise coming from the right hand front corner of the vehicle while driving.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Raise vehicle on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Workshop Manual, Section 100-02.

2. Locate the access hole between right hand front fender splash shield and front bumper cover.





3. Inspect the position of the windshield washer reservoir mounting bracket related to the body rail. Does a minimum of 5 mm (3/16-) clearance exist between the windshield washer reservoir mounting bracket and the body rail? (Figure 1)

a. No - Adjust the windshield washer reservoir mounting bracket position as necessary.

b. Yes - This article does not apply.

WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
