Fender
Removal and Installation
1. Remove the front bumper cover.
2. Remove the fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to Fender Splash Shield Fender Splash Shield.
3. Remove the upper headlamp pushpins.
4. Remove the front bumper cover mounting reinforcement bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
5. Remove the front bumper cover mounting reinforcement screw.
6. Remove the 2 fender-to-body mounting support bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
7. Remove the 2 fender lower rear mounting bolts located at the lower rear of the fender.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
8. Remove the fender-to-body bracket bolt located near the upper door hinge.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
9. Remove the fender middle rear mounting bolt located at the rear of the wheelhouse opening.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
10. Remove the fender upper mounting bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
11. NOTE: If installing a new fender, the rear expandable foam baffle will be part of the new fender assembly. Use a locally obtained flexible foam repair material only if the rear foam baffle does not correctly seal the space between the rear expandable foam baffle and the cowling.
If reusing an existing fender, use a locally obtained flexible foam repair material to seal the area between the rear expandable foam baffle and the cowling.
Remove the rear expandable foam baffle.
- If expandable foam sealant has been used between the rear expandable foam baffle and the cowling, carefully cut the foam sealant to remove the rear expandable foam baffle from the cowling.
Remove the front expandable foam baffle pin-type retainers.
Remove the fender.
12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
