Dimmable Illumination
The instrument cluster and panel illumination is used to provide backlighting to the instrument panel, switches, and control components when the parking lamps are on or during illuminated entry. The level of intensity is adjustable by rotating the instrument panel dimmer switch either up to increase intensity or down to decrease intensity.
The dimmable backlighting components are:
- Audio Control Module (ACM) (vehicles with navigation)
- Ambient lighting switch (if equipped)
- Auxiliary climate control assembly (if equipped)
- Clock (if equipped)
- Center stack switch assembly
- Floor shifter
- Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) (vehicles without navigation)
- Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) (vehicles without navigation)
- Headlamp switch
- HVAC module (vehicles with navigation)
- Liftgate release switch
- Message center switch
- Power liftgate switch (if equipped)
- Rear Entertainment Module (RETM) (if equipped)
- Speed control switches
- Steering wheel audio control switches
Fixed Illumination
The fixed (non-dimmable) illumination is used to provide backlighting to switches when the key is in the ACCESSORY or RUN position.
The fixed backlighting components are:
- Door lock control switches
- Window control switches
- Roof opening panel switch (if equipped)
