Information and Entertainment System

Functional Components

The functional components of the audio system, and their locations, are as follows:

- APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module), located above RH kick panel (late build)

- Audio Front Control Module (ACM)

- Speech Recognition Module (SRM), located behind the glove compartment (early build)

- AM/FM antenna cable, routed from the roof to the LH A-pillar, to the ACM (Audio Front Control Module)

- AM/FM antenna, located at the front center of the roof

- Audio input jack, located at the front of the floor console

- Microphone, located in the LH A-pillar trim panel (Bluetooth Hands-Free System), or located in the overhead console by the LH sun visor (SYNC(R))

- Speakers (see audio line-up for locations)

- Steering wheel controls, located on the steering column (if equipped)

- Universal Serial Bus (USB) port and cable, located on the bottom right of the radio bezel (if equipped)

Audio Line-Up (Early Build)

The vehicle is equipped with one of the following audio systems:

- Base
- AM/FM ACM (Audio Front Control Module)

- 2 front door speakers (one in each door)

- Audio input jack


- Premium
- AM/FM Single CD ACM (Audio Front Control Module) with MP3 playback

- 2 front door speakers (one in each door)

- Optional 2 rear cargo area speakers (one on each side of the headliner)

- Audio input jack


The following options are available for the Premium Audio System:

- Steering wheel controls

- Bluetooth Hands-Free System

Audio Line-Up (Late Build)

The vehicle is equipped with one of the following audio system:

- Base
- AM/FM ACM (Audio Front Control Module)

- 2 front door speakers (one in each door)

- Audio input jack


- Premium
- AM/FM Single CD ACM (Audio Front Control Module) with MP3 playback

- 2 front door speakers (one in each door)

- Optional 2 rear cargo area speakers (one on each side of the headliner)

- Speed sensitive volume

- Audio input jack


The following options are available for the premium audio system:

- Steering wheel controls

- SYNC(R) system

Bluetooth Hands-Free System (Early Build)

The Bluetooth Hands-Free System is comprised of the following:

- SRM (Speech Recognition Module)

- Microphone

The Bluetooth Hands-Free System allows for hands-free operation of the audio system and for sending and receiving phone calls via a Bluetooth-enabled phone.

SYNC(R) System (Late Build)

The SYNC(R) system consists of the following:

- APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module)

- Audio input jack

- Microphone

- SYNC(R)-specific steering wheel controls

- USB (Universal Serial Bus) port and cable

SYNC(R) is a hands-free communications and entertainment system that allows the following interactions:

- Mobile phone and media device functionality with the vehicle audio system

- Send and receive phone calls via a Bluetooth-enabled phone

- Send and receive text messages via a Bluetooth-enabled phone

- Connect media devices (such as an iPod(R) or USB (Universal Serial Bus) flash device) in order to play audio files

- Play media files via a Bluetooth-enabled audio device

Not all features are available with every phone.
