DEFROSTER GRILLE PANEL WARPED

FORD:
2013 Escape

This article supersedes TSB 12-8-2 to remove the production fix date.

ISSUE
Some 2013 Escape vehicles may exhibit a defroster grille panel with a warped appearance. This condition may occur more often in high ambient temperatures.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the defroster grille panel and discard. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-12.





2. Install two pieces of flock tape approximately 1.0 mm x 17.0 mm x 30.0 mm (0.039" x 0.67" x 1.18") on each side of the six slots for the defroster grille panel (6 slots, 2 pieces per slot, 1 on each side). (Figure 1)

a. The flock tape is available in the Rotunda Squeak and Rattle Repair Kit 164-R4900.

3. Replace all the metal retaining clips used to attach both the left and right hand side A-Pillar trim pieces.

4. Install the new defroster grille panel. Refer to WSM, 501-12.
