Vehicles Involved & Technical Instructions Information - Attachment I
VEHICLES INVOLVEDVehicles involved in this program are all 1983-model Mustang convertible top vehicles built prior to August 16, 1983.
TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS Inspection Please use the following procedure to inspect involved vehicles returned to your dealership in response to this program.
EXHIBIT I - OWNER NOTIFICATION PROGRAM M27:
1. (Refer to Exhibit I, Figure 1). With the convertible top in the up position, inspect the convertible top roof side pads on both sides of the vehicle to determine if the pad material is damaged (i.e., shows evidence of wear or perforation). The portion of the pads that should be inspected is in the area between the number two bow and the windshield header.
EXHIBIT I - OWNER NOTIFICATION PROGRAM M27:
2. (Refer to Exhibit I, Figure 2). Lower the convertible top. Inspect the roof side pads (in the folded position) to determine if the pads are contacting the ends of the dust cover front retainer, which is attached to the rear seat back, and/or the corners of the rear seat back.
3. If the inspections performed in Step 1 and Step 2 disclose that the roof side pads are damaged, or are contacting the dust cover front retainer ends and/or the rear seat back corners, please proceed to the following repair procedures. If the pads are not damaged, and they are not contacting the retainer ends and the rear seat back corners, no further action is required.
