NOISE - BUZZING SOUND DURING ENGINE OPERATION (SVO TURBO)

Customer concerns of a buzzing sound emitting from the engine compartment may be caused by an undersized lower intercooler mounting bracket. The following procedure may be used to check for this condition and correct the concern.
1. Attempt to move the intercooler assembly forward/backward (front of vehicle and firewall).
NOTE: Slight up and down movement is acceptable.

2. If the assembly does move forward/backward, pull assembly fully forward and measure clearance with
a feeler gauge (Figure 10, View A).
3. Determine shims required (See shim chart in Figure 10, View C).
4. Loosen and remove the (2) front bracket bolts (see Figure 10, View B and Figure 11), install shims and retorque bolts to 19-29 N-m (14-21 ft.lbs.).
