Door Moulding - Peeling Away From Doors

Mouldings curl away and/or loose from the front or rear doors is caused by inadequate adhesive or moulding that is too long (3 mm) interfering with adjacent panels or other mouldings. To correct this condition, remove damaged moulding(s) and replace with new design level moulding(s), as shown in Figure 1.
1. Remove damaged moulding(s) and discard.
2. Clean excess adhesive or dirt (around moulding area) with isopropyl alcohol.
NOTE: Make sure the surface(s) is clean and dry. Work in a well ventilated area away from sparks or flame.
3. Remove protective backing from the new moulding(s) and heat the moulding(s) to 70~ +/- 10~ F. Heat the sheet metal where moulding is to be applied (door(s)) to 110~ +/- 10~F.
4. Align the moulding(s) to the door and press the moulding(s) firmly to the door, making sure there are no air pockets between the moulding(s) and the door(s) surface.
