WIPER - MOTOR OPERATES ERRATICALLY CAUSING WIPER ARMS TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP INTERMITTENTLY IN OPERATION

FORD:
1987-93 MUSTANG

ISSUE:
The wiper motor may operate erratically causing the wiper arms to slow down or stop intermittently while in operation. This occurs because, under certain conditions, water may seep past the hood seal and enter the wiper motor. Accumulation of water and dust may cause intermittent contact between the brushes and the commutator.

ACTION:
Replace the wiper motor with a windshield wiper motor service kit which includes a water shield that snaps over the motor and diverts water from it. Refer to Instruction Sheet # 6440, included in the kit, for installation details.

The Windshield Wiper Motor Service Kit (F3PZ-17508-A) includes the following components:

^ One (1) Wiper Motor

^ One (1) Windshield Wiper Motor Shield

^ One (1) Instruction Sheet # 6440
