RemovalWARNING: THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT NECESSARY FOR SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT IS POWERED DIRECTLY FROM THE BATTERY AND BACKUP POWER SUPPLY. TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY, THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE AND BACKUP POWER SUPPLY MUST BE DISCONNECTED PRIOR TO SERVICING OR REPLACING ANY SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
NOTE: To repair stripped outboard sensor retaining screws, replace the sensor bracket with bracket Part No. 14B045, screw Part No. N806327-S190 (2 req'd) and nut Part# W620397-S36 (2 req'd). Tighten to 9-12 Nm (7-9 lb-ft).
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and backup power supply.
2. Remove battery.
3. Remove plastic wiring shield.
4. Disconnect LH front sensor electrical connector and wiring retainers.
5. Remove LH sensor support bracket.
6. Remove four retaining screws retaining LH front sensor to LH radiator support and remove sensor from vehicle.
Installation
1. Position LH sensor to LH radiator support, and secure with two screws. Tighten screws to proper specifications.
2. Install sensor support bracket.
3. Connect LH front sensor electrical wiring connector to wiring assembly connector and install wiring retainers.
4. Install plastic wiring shield. Install battery.
5. Connect backup power supply and battery ground cable.
6. Verify air bag indicator.
