FORD: 1989-91 TAURUS
ISSUE: The black "TAURUS" lettering on the base wheel covers may fade after several months. This is caused by the paint composition.
ACTION: Use Ford Custom Silicone Glass Polish on the lettering of the wheel covers to restore the color of the lettering. Refer to the following procedure for service details.
1. Apply Ford Custom Silicone Gloss Polish to the "TAURUS" lettering.
NOTE: USUALLY THIS WILL RESTORE THE COLORING OF THE LETTERING.
2. Remove all polish and residue from the grooves surrounding the lettering.
3. If the black coloring of the lettering can not be restored, replace the wheel cover with a new design wheel cover.
NOTE: THE PAINT ON THE NEW WHEEL COVER WILL RESIST FADING.
