REASONS FOR THIS PROGRAM
On some of these cars the fuel gauge may become erratic and eventually "peg" at "F" between 5,000 and 20,000 miles of vehicle operation. This condition is due to the inadvertent use of lead solder on a pump/sender assembly connection which can be damaged by methanol fuel
SERVICE ACTION
To correct this condition, a new fuel pump/sender assembly with lead free solder must be installed on each of the affected cars.
