Drive Belt: Service and Repair

NOTE: Conditions requiring belt replacement are excessive wear, rib chunk-out, severe glazing and frayed cords. Replace any belt exhibiting one of these conditions. Cracks on rib side of a belt are considered acceptable. If belt has chunks missing from ribs, it should be replaced. If two or more adjacent ribs have lost sections 1/2 inch or longer, or if missing chunks are creating a noise or vibration condition, replace belt.

REPLACEMENT
1. Lift or rotate automatic tensioner.
2. Remove belt(s).
3. Install new belt over pulleys. Ensure all V-grooves make proper contact with pulley.
