FORD:
1994 MUSTANG

ISSUE:
The convertible top switch may be inoperative due to a misaligned spring and plunger inside the switch. In most cases the switch will still feel as though it is operating properly.

ACTION:
Replace the convertible top switch with a revised switch. The switch was revised internally to improve spring and plunger alignment.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Verify that the convertible top switch is the cause of the concern.

NOTE:
THE PARKING BRAKE MUST BE SET IN ORDER FOR THE CONVERTIBLE TOP TO OPERATE.

2. Carefully pry the convertible top switch from the center console.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the old switch.

4. Obtain new switch (F4ZZ-15668-B) and reconnect electrical connector to the new switch.

5. Insert the new switch into the center console.

6. Verify operation of the convertible top.
