Lumbar Support Wire Harness
Affected Vehicle: Mustang GT

Technical Instructions
Refer to the 1994 Mustang Service Manual:

Section 01-10-17, Seat Removal and Installation.

1. Open door and position seat belt out of belt guide.

2. Remove two bolts and two nuts retaining front seat to floor and tilt seat backwards against rear seat. Do not disconnect electrical harness or remove seat from vehicle.





3. Locate and cut off plastic tie strap securing Lumbar Support Wire Harness to flexilator. Be careful to avoid cutting any of the electrical wires. (See figure 1).

NOTE:

4. Wrap electrical tape around all three legs of harness. DO NOT REATTACH HARNESS TO FLEXILATOR. Tape should extend approximately one to two inches away from junction. (See figure 2).

5. To reattach seat assembly, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten retaining nuts and screws to 35 +/- 5.3 N-m (25.8 +/- 3.9 lb-ft).

6. Re-install push pins and front seat track to floor insulators.

7. Check lumbar support operation.

8. Repeat this procedure for the opposite front seat assembly.
