Cooling System: Description and Operation
The cooling fan incorporates a two-speed cooling electric motor which is mounted within a shroud behind the radiator. Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor measures coolant temperature at water outlet connection and sends a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) which will activate cooling fan accordingly. The low cooling fan control relay is activated at 207°F, or below that temperature when air conditioning system is operating. High cooling fan control relay is activated at 226°F or when sensor fails.
