Removal and Replacement
Powertrain Control Module:
REMOVAL
CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. if exposed to these charges damage may result.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the floor console and instrument panel insulator (046A24).
3. Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring connector from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Tighten the PCM screws to 3.7 Nm (32 in lb).
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
