Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor connector.

3. Unscrew the IAT sensor from the rear of the engine air cleaner upper cover fitting and remove the IAT sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. Tighten the IAT sensor to 7-12 Nm (62-106 in lb).

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
