This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Ford Motor Company has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1995 Model Year Mustang cars.
Safety Defect
Some of these cars may have tie rod ends manufactured with incorrectly tapered ball studs that could fracture during vehicle operation. If the tie rod end fractures, steering control potentially could be affected.
Repairs
At no charge to you, your dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the tie rod ends on your car. Dealers currently have instructions and parts ordering information.
How Long Will It Take?
The time needed for this service is about one hour. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your vehicle for one full working day. If inspection reveals that your car requires new tie rod ends, your dealer may have to order them. Parts would be expected to arrive within three days.
Courtesy Cars
If your car requires new tie rod ends, your dealer will provide you with a free (except for fuel) courtesy vehicle to use until new parts arrive and repairs are completed.
