Instrument Panel - Finish Panel
Removal1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. If equipped, open the console armrest and remove the two screws that attach the console armrest base to the console armrest compartment.
3. Remove the console armrest base.
4. Remove the two screws that attach the console armrest compartment to the console panel ash receptacle bracket.
5. Remove the console armrest compartment.
6. If equipped with a manual transaxle, unscrew the shift control selector lever knob.
7. If equipped with an automatic transaxle, remove the console top panel.
8. Engage the parking brake.
9. Pull up on the console finish panel to separate it from the console panel.
10. Remove the instrument panel ash receptacle illumination miniature bulb from the console finish panel.
11. Disconnect the two cigar lighter knob and element electrical connectors.
12. Remove the console finish panel.
13. Remove the two instrument panel finish panel screws.
14. Pull the instrument panel finish panel from the instrument panel to gain access to the electrical connectors.
15. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the following switches:
- Headlamp cover switch
- Heated back window switch and light if equipped
- Rear window wiper, if equipped
- Rear window washer, if equipped
- Fog lamp switch, if equipped
16. Remove the instrument panel finish panel from the instrument panel.
Installation
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
