Door Glass - Pop or Snap Noise When Cycled

1995-96 PROBE
ISSUE:
A "pop" or "snap" noise may be heard from the door glass while it is cycled up and down on some vehicles. This may be caused by a loose regulator carriage bracket-to-glass slider bracket mounting bolt.
ACTION:
Install a nut to the backside of the door glass slider bracket mounting bolt. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to the appropriate Probe Service Manual, Section 01-05 for removal procedure.
3. Raise door glass until slider bracket is accessible through opening in door (Figure 1).
4. Install a 6 mm x 1.0 mm Nut (obtain locally) to the backside of the regulator carriage bracket-to-glass slider bracket bolt (Figure 1). Torque nut to 8-10 Nm (71-89 b-in).
5. Reinstall front door trim panel.
6. Reconnect battery ground cable.
7. Cycle door glass to verify repair.
