TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS
- Tighten lower cylinder block-to-upper cylinder block retaining bolts in sequence, as follows:
- Tighten fasteners 1 through 10 to 22-28 Nm (17-20 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten fasteners 11 through 20 to 37-43 Nm (28-31 ft. lbs.).
- Rotate fasteners 1 through 20 an additional 85-95 degrees.
- Tighten fasteners 21 through 31 to 20-30 Nm (15-22 ft. lbs.).
NOTE: Tighten all lower cylinder block-to-upper cylinder block retaining bolts within six minutes of installing lower cylinder block onto upper cylinder block.
- Verify crankshaft rotates freely and does not bind. Clean any residual sealer from inside the cylinder block with a clean shop towel.
