Input Shaft and Bearing

Special Tools:

Disassembly





1. Using a press and the special tool, remove the input shaft bearing.





2. Remove the bearing race and end play selective shims.
3. Remove the oil seal.

Assembly





1. Using the special tools, install the oil seal.





2. Note: If a new oil seal is being installed as part of a transmission overhaul, do not install the end play selective shims.

Install the end play selective shims and the bearing race.





3. Using a press and a capped length of pipe, install the input shaft bearing.
