Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair
REMOVALNOTE: If an A/C condenser core leak is suspected, the A/C condenser core must be leak tested before it is removed from the vehicle.
1. Disconnect and remove the battery. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Perform the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure.
3. Remove the bolts and remove the battery tray.
4. Remove the radiator sight shield.
- Remove the pin-type retainers.
- Remove the shield.
5. Remove the bolts.
6. Remove the bracket and remove the bottle.
7. Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector.
8. Position the harness aside.
9. Remove the nuts and disconnect the lines.
10. Remove the radiator brackets.
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Remove the brackets.
11. Position the radiator rearward.
12. Remove the four pin-type retainers.
13. Position the wiring harness reward.
14. Remove the condenser bolts.
15. Remove the condenser core.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Add 30 ml (1oz.) of PAG Compressor Oil, YN-12c, F7AZ-19589-DA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B to the A/C Condenser.
- Lubricate the O-ring seal with PAG Compressor Oil, YN-12c, F7AZ-19589-DA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
