Interior Lighting
INTERIOR LIGHTINGThe interior lighting system consists of 2 subsystems: the courtesy lamps and the demand lamps. The Theatre Dimming option raises the courtesy lights over 0.7 seconds when courtesy light activation is requested by a feature other than the Panic Alarm or by the customer (such as the dome lamp switch). The Theatre Dimming feature lowers the courtesy lights over 1.7 seconds when courtesy lighting deactivation is requested by any feature other than the Panic Alarm to Battery Saver, or by the customer (such as the dome lamp switch).
The courtesy lamp subsystem consists of the dome lamps. The smart junction box (SJB) provides the ground circuit for the dome lamps.
The courtesy lighting feature will request the courtesy/dome lights be turned on when any of the vehicle's doors are opened/become ajar and the vehicle's speed, if provided, is less than 9 mph (15 KPH). The courtesy lighting feature shall request the courtesy lights to turn OFF, when either all doors are closed or the vehicle's speed reaches 9 mph (15 KPH).
The demand lamps subsystem consists of map lamps and trunk lamps. Map lamps are switched individually and share a common ground circuit. Map lamps may also be turned on by rotating the instrument panel (IP) dimmer switch to the highest point. Trunk lamps demand lighting may be turned ON when the trunk is opened.
Power is supplied to the interior lamps through the SJB.
