Removal and Installation
1. Remove the steering wheel.
2. Remove the driver seat.
3. Remove the LH front splash shield.
4. Remove the 4 screws, and the instrument panel lower panel.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

5. Loosen the hood release cable nut and disconnect the hood release cable from the instrument panel lower panel.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).

6. Disconnect the DLC from the instrument panel lower panel and remove the instrument panel lower panel.
7. Remove the 4 pin-type retainers and the LH and RH lower A-pillar trim panels.
8. On the LH side remove the ground bolt, loosen the bulkhead electrical connector bolt and disconnect the bulkhead electrical connector.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).







9. Through the LH front wheel well opening, loosen the 2 bolts, disconnect the 2 bulkhead electrical connectors and position the connectors through the dash panel.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

10. Remove the 4 screws and the lower center trim panel.

11. NOTE: Install a new pinch bolt.

Remove the intermediate shaft pinch bolt and separate the intermediate shaft from the steering gear.
- To install, tighten to 28 Nm (21 lb-ft).

12. Disconnect the 2 climate control cables from the housing.
13. Disconnect the speed control deactivation switch electrical connector (if equipped).
14. Disconnect the stop lamp switch electrical connector.
15. Disconnect the clutch position switch electrical connector (if equipped).
16. Remove the LH and RH windshield side garnish mouldings.







17. Disconnect the audio antenna connector.
18. Remove the transmission selector lever.







19. NOTE: The restraint control module (RCM) is grounded by the retaining bolts.

Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors, remove the 3 bolts, and the RCM.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).







20. Release the locators and position the floor console wiring harness aside.
21. Open the glove compartment to the full open position.
22. Disconnect the blend door motor electrical connector.
23. Disconnect the 3 GEM electrical connectors.
24. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
25. Disconnect the 2 lower RH cowl electrical connectors.
26. Remove the RH lower cowl ground bolt.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

27. Remove the 2 instrument panel floor bracket bolts.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

CAUTION: When removing the instrument panel retainers, care must be taken to prevent damage to the instrument panel and windshield.







28. NOTE: Using a suitable tool, remove the retaining clips by installing 3 M6 x 100 mm bolts and lift upward on the bolt head to release the retaining clips from the dash panel.

Remove the 3 instrument panel upper retaining clips.

29. On the upper LH side, open the cap and remove the instrument panel cowl side bolt.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

30. Remove the LH and RH instrument panel side trim panels.

31. NOTE: An assistant is required to carry out this procedure.

Remove the 3 LH and 3 RH instrument panel side support bolts and the instrument panel through the driver door opening.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

32. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
