DTC P1101 WHEN RUNNING KOEO SELF TEST

FORD:
2006 Focus

ISSUE
Some 2006 Focus vehicles, equipped with 2.0L engines and PZEV emissions, may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P1101 (MAF sensor out of self test range) present in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) when running a key on engine off (KOEO) self test.

ACTION
Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using WDS release B39.14 and higher or B40.2 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the B40 CD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website. If DTC P1101 is still present after reprogramming the PCM to the latest level, refer to the PC/ED Manual for normal diagnostics.

NOTE
IF NEEDED, THE VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION (VECI) DECAL CAN BE CHECKED TO CONFIRM IF THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH THE PZEV OR STANDARD VERSION OF THE 2.0L ENGINE. IF EQUIPPED WITH THE PZEV ENGINE, "PZEV" WILL BE LISTED CLEARLY ON THE VECI DECAL. PZEV ENGINES ARE ALSO EQUIPPED WITH A SECONDARY AIR INJECTION (AIR) PUMP, WHILE THE STANDARD ENGINE IS NOT.

WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage And Emissions Warranty Coverage
