PINPOINT TEST J: THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) TRANSMITTER HAS POOR RANGE PERFORMANCE

Normal Operation
Remote locking and unlocking of the doors, activating the panic alarm, and releasing the luggage compartment lid latch is accomplished by the SJB receiving a command message from the RKE transmitter through the tire pressure monitoring system/remote keyless entry (TPMS/RKE) antenna. The SJB processes the command and provides the appropriate output. The RKE transmitter has a maximum operating range of 10 m (33 ft).

The TPMS/RKE antenna is located externally on the SJB.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Aftermarket systems
- High power devices
- RKE transmitter
- RKE transmitter battery
- TPMS/RKE antenna
- TV/radio transmission towers
