ISSUE
Some 2010 Fusion and Milan Hybrid vehicles built on or before 3/22/2010 may exhibit an Instrument Cluster (IC) display that intermittently changes back to the default Enlighten Mode setting, efficiency gauge changes to Efficiency Leaves, and Average Fuel Economy defaults to zero without per[orming a message center reset. If the IC changes to the default settings only after an ignition key cycle, a cluster reprogram is available.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
A vehicle low voltage condition and/or battery disconnect will cause the IC to reset to default settings.
1. If the IC exhibits any other symptoms than described and/or diagnostic trouble codes are present, do not continue with this article. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 413-00 for diagnostics.
2. If the IC changes to the default settings only after an ignition key cycle, reprogram the IC to the latest calibration using IDS release 68.03 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2010.7 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com.
