Instrument Cluster and Panel Illumination

Instrument Cluster and Panel Illumination

The instrument cluster and panel illumination system consists of both dimmable and non-dimmable (fixed) illumination sources. The instrument cluster and panel illumination is used to provide backlighting to the instrument panel, switches and control components when the parking lamps are on.

The dimmable backlighting system provides dimmable backlighting to the following components:

- Instrument Cluster (IC)
- Headlamp switch
- Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) indicator/traction control/ambient lighting switch
- Message center switch (if equipped)
- Luggage compartment switch
- Floor shifter (if equipped)
- Front Display Interface Module (FDIM)
- Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM)
- HVAC module
- Steering wheel control switches

NOTE: If the battery is disconnected or discharged, the instrument panel dimmer switch requires re-calibration. Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch from the full dim position to the dome on position. This makes sure that all displays are visible under all lighting conditions.

The fixed backlighting system consists of the following component:

- Power sunroof switch (if equipped)
- Door lock control switches
- Power window control switches
