Condenser Core - 3.5L GTDI
Removal and Installation
All vehicles
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.
2. Recover the refrigerant. For additional information, refer to Climate Control System - General Information and Diagnostics Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging.
3. Remove the lower radiator splash shield.
4. Remove the front bumper cover. For additional information, refer to Bumpers Service and Repair.
Vehicles with adaptive cruise control
5. Remove the 2 speed control sensor bracket bolts.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
6. Remove the remaining speed control sensor bracket bolt and position the sensor an bracket aside.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
All vehicles
7. Remove the 2 condenser fitting nuts and disconnect the fittings.
- Discard the O-ring seals and gasket seals.
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).
8. Remove the 2 condenser bolts and detach the condenser core from the cooling module.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
9. Release the 2 transmission cooler hose clamps and disconnect the cooler hoses from the condenser core.
10. Remove the condenser core.
11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new gasket seals and O-ring seals.
- Add the correct amount of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to the Refrigerant Oil Adding procedure in Climate Control System - General Information and Diagnostics Refrigerant Oil Adding.
12. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to Climate Control System - General Information and Diagnostics Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging.
13. Fill the transmission fluid to the correct level. For additional information, refer to Automatic Transaxle/Transmission - 6F50/6F55 Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill.
