Starts, But Stalls

Engine starts but stalls when load is placed on the engine (A/C clutch engaged or transmission shifted into drive or reverse).

POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION

EGR malfunction Check the EGR system. Proceed to
flange gasket leaking the EGR Test.
solenoid valve malfunctioning,
valve sticking.



Ignition timing Check the Ignition Timing. Refer
to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.



Idle speed too low Check the idle speed. Refer to
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.



Poor or contaminated fuel Recommend higher grade fuel
