Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Compressor Belt Alignment:

Inspect
1. Compressor drive belt to be sure it's correctly aligned.
^ Using a J 23600-B belt tension gage, check drive belt tension:
New belt tension: 160 ± 25 lbs.
Used belt tension: 100 ± 20 lbs.
^ A "New belt" is defined as a belt which has been used for less than five minutes with the engine running.
^ A "Used belt" is one which has been in use for over five minutes.
