Code 71:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

Code 71 indicates that the EGR Gas Temperature Sensor has signaled the ECM of a temperature above or below the calibrated range.

TEST DESCRIPTION: Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. The ECM should provide 4-5 volts to the EGR Gas Temperature Sensor.

2. The ECM provides ground for the EGR Gas Temperature Sensor.
