1. On all models equipped with the SIR or inflatable restraint systems, disable system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION before performing any repair procedures on or near steering column.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANELS AND CLUSTERS/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES/DASH PANEL SERVICE, then remove meter hood.
4. Remove four dash gauge retaining screws, then disconnect electrical connectors and speedometer cable, Fig. 9.
5. Remove dash gauge assembly.
6. Reverse procedure to install, ensuring that all electrical connectors are securely connected.
7. On all models equipped with the SIR or inflatable restraint systems, enable system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.
