Knee Diverter: Service and Repair

1. Deactivate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION.
2. Remove left lower switch and dash lighter panel assemblies.
3. Remove hood release latch and cable.
4. Remove knee bolster.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque knee bolster mounting nuts and bolts 89 inch lbs.
b. Following installation, activate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.
c. Turn ignition switch to the On position and verify the ``Inflatable Restraint'' indicator flashes 7 to 9 times then turns Off. If indicator does not respond, refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING PROCEDURE/TESTING PROCEDURES/RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES.
