Manual Shift Shaft Retaining Nut And Lock Washer:

1. Loosen neutral safety switch attaching bolts.
2. Place selector lever in the Neutral position.
3. Disconnect electrical connector.
4. Align groove with neutral basic line,
- Torque switch attaching bolts to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs).
- Torque manual shift shaft retaining nuts to 7 Nm (62 in. lbs).
5. Stake the manual shift shaft retaining nut.
6. Install manual shift lever to manual shaft:
- Secure with one washer and nut.
- Torque shift lever retaining nut to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs).
7. Connect electrical connector and check to ensure engine starts on when selector lever is Neutral or Park.
