Windows: Description and Operation

Battery voltage is applied through the GAUGE Fuse to the coil of the Window Main Relay whenever the ignition switch is in the "ON" position. Battery voltage is also applied through the Window Circuit Breaker and the Window Main Relay to the WINDOW MASTER SWITCH and the individual window door switches. When any switch is moved to the UP position, the UP side of the switch is pushed closed to Battery voltage while the DOWN side of the switch remains normally closed to ground. When any switch is moved to the DOWN position, the DOWN contacts of the switch are pushed closed to Battery voltage while the UP contacts remain normally closed to ground. In this manner, the polarity of the circuit is reversed and the permanent magnet motors are able to operate in the opposite direction.
