With Pulse

Whenever the ignition switch is in the "ON" position, Battery voltage is applied through the WIPER Fuse to the WINDSHIELD WASHER PUMP, the WINDSHIELD WIPER/CRUISE ENGAGE SWITCH and the WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR.

WASHER OPERATION

When the Wash Switch is pressed, the WINDSHIELD WASHER PUMP is grounded through the WINDSHIELD WIPER/CRUISE ENGAGE SWITCH to G200. The WINDSHIELD WASHER PUMP operates as long as the Wash Switch is pressed. To initiate wiper operation, the Wash Switch also applies Battery voltage to the WINDSHIELD WIPER/CRUISE ENGAGE SWITCH "OFF" contacts. This action applies Battery voltage to the LOW side of the WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR. The WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR starts to turn and engages the WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR Pawl and Switch.

While the Pawl is turning with the motor, the switch remains closed for one wipe cycle. With this switch closed, Battery voltage is applied through the WIPER Fuse, JUNCTION BLOCK 3, the WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR Pawl and Switch contacts and the "OFF" contacts of the WINDSHIELD WIPER/CRUISE ENGAGE SWITCH to the LOW side of the WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR. In this manner, the WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR will continue to complete at least one full wipe cycle even though the Wash Switch is released.

LOW OPERATION

With the WINDSHIELD WIPER/CRUISE ENGAGE SWITCH in the "LO" position, Battery voltage is applied through the WIPER Fuse, JUNCTION BLOCK 3 and the "LO" contacts of the WINDSHIELD WIPER/CRUISE ENGAGE SWITCH to the "LO" side of the WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR. Since the WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR is permanently grounded at G106, the motor operates at low speed as long as the switch remains in this position.

HIGH OPERATION

With the WINDSHIELD WIPER/CRUISE ENGAGE SWITCH in the "HI" position, Battery voltage is applied through the WIPER Fuse, JUNCTION BLOCK 3 and the "HI" contacts of the WINDSHIELD WIPER/CRUISE ENGAGE SWITCH to the HIGH side of the WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR. Since the WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR is permanently grounded at G106, the motor operates at high speed as long as the switch remains in this position.

INTERMITTENT OPERATION

Intermittent operation is similar to low operation with the exception that the internal circuitry of the WINDSHIELD WIPER/ CRUISE ENGAGE SWITCH acts as a timer relay. Battery voltage is applied to the LOW side of the motor in intervals of timed pulses. The timing of the intervals can be adjusted by the rheostat built into the switch.
